Good to Know

1. Celebrant or Registrar?

The differences between the two are pretty straight forward.

A Registrar can legally perform the wedding service but there are limitations on what can be said in your service, where you can have your ceremony and you probably won’t have a choice on who your Registrar will be. You will meet them for the first time on your wedding day.

Whereas a Celebrant has no restrictions in terms of the creativity in content, format or style of your wedding ceremony and can therefore be completely personalised.

Also, working with a Celebrant that you have chosen and spent some time with always helps when you have familiar face standing with you to support you through your big moment.

2. Do we need to get legally married before we have a celebrant ceremony?

Yes, to be legally married you will both need to book in at your local registration office. You will need to take two witnesses to verify the occasion as you sign some documents and recite a formal legal declaration. It will depend on the registry office you attend whether you can include your own vow readings or exchanges of rings.

This can be done before or after your wedding day where you can have the full wedding experience with music, rituals, readings, blessings, anything you want.

3. How can you personalise a ceremony?

Your Wedding Day is all about you. The ceremony should tell your story and you can personalise it with as much or as little as you like. You can use any music you like to set the mood of the day from welcoming in guests, having a friend or a family member singing during the service and most importantly walking down the aisle. Readings from Poems, Song Lyrics or Monologues can be inspiring and personal.

You can have any theme you like from Harvest Moon to Harry Potter, Spring Bride to Star Wars or Musicals to Medieval. It’s your wedding.

4. How much do you charge?

Owing to the difficulties of the ’Cost of living’ we are all experiencing I have reduced my fee to £550, which includes:

  • All our creative consultation sessions face to face, phone calls, emails and Zoom / Teams / Whatsapp / Skype communications
  • Creation of your complete wedding ceremony
  • Conducting the ceremony on the day.
  • Presentation copy of the Ceremony Script, Vows and readings.
  • And of course complete wedding day guidance and support.

The only additional costs are for travel (charge 45p per mile outside of the M25) and any accommodation that requires an overnight stay before your wedding day, which is dependent on the location you’ve chosen.

5. Does it matter what Religion, Culture or Faith I follow?

Not at all.

A Celebrant led ceremony is an all-inclusive event. We celebrate YOU as a couple. We can incorporate any elements or rituals that may be meaningful to you or alternatively, your ceremony can be completely neutral, with no religious references whatsoever.

6. How can we make this happen?

Feel free to contact me for a free no-obligation chat about your wedding and to discuss more about my process.

If you would like to book me there will be a £100, non-refundable holding deposit to secure your date in my calendar.
